Blackheath is a country village located towards the western end of the Blue Mountains between Medlow Bath and Mount Victoria.

The town centre is situated at the junction of the Great Western Highway and Govetts Leap Road, located close to attractive parks and gardens. Blackheath is noted for its rhododendron displays which are celebrated with an annual festival.

Much of Blackheath is surrounded by the Blue Mountains National Park and significant areas of bushland and reserves. The north-east edge of town overlooks the Grose Valley which can be observed from lookouts and walking tracks towards the end of Hat Hill Road. Am easily accessible lookout is provided at the end of Govetts Leap Road where a network of walking tracks lead down the valley and along mountain streams and waterfalls.

Govetts Leap Lookout

Take in the iconic Blue Mountains views from Govetts Leap lookout, including sandstone escarpments, sheer cliff walls, the deep canyons of the Grose Valley, and tall waterfalls.

Cliff Top Walking Track

Cliff Top walking track between Govetts Leap and Evans lookout offers some of the most breath taking scenic views in all of the Blue Mountains. You'll be spoiled with birdwatching, wildflowers, and plenty of lookouts along the way.

Evans Lookout

Head to Evans lookout and nearby Valley View lookout in Blue Mountains National Park if you're seeking incredible views, especially around sunrise and sunset. It's also the start point for several scenic day walks.

Victory Theatre Antique Centre

The Victory Theatre Antique Centre is the largest antique centre west of Sydney. Blackheath village, 10 kilometres west of Katoomba, has become a Mecca for antiques and collectables shopping.

Campbell Rhododendron Gardens

Campbell Rhododendron Gardens, in Bacchante Street Blackheath NSW (about 1km from Blackheath railway station), cover an area of 18.3 hectares. The Gardens are unique, where exotic plants thrive under a canopy of Australian native bushland. Rhododendrons and Azaleas are at their flowering best between late-September and mid-November, and winding paths make exploration of the Gardens easy and fun

Logan Brae Orchard

Occupying the same land since its establishment 100 years ago, Logan Brae Orchards is a family run orchard on the Shipley Plateau, located 5 minutes from the Blue Mountains town of Blackheath. The orchard was planted in 1919 when the plateau was mostly an orcharding community. At it’s fruit-bearing peak in the early 20th century it was home to thirteen orchards. Today Logan Brae is the plateau’s only remaining orchard and is a sweet reminder of how our fruit used to be grown.
